This show was a great success! It was my first event and my inspiration to plan more shows and promote more bands.  We had a great turnout and the show will be remembered.

Sean McNeill Interview

Sean McNeill

Michelle: What instrument do you play?

Sean: *Laughs* Guitar.

Michelle: How long have you been playing guitar?

Sean: I was 14 when I started playing and I’m 26 now- so 12 years.

Michelle: In case any hot chicks wanted to know- he’s 26.

Michelle: How many bands have you been in and what were their names?

Sean: OMG!  Not that many actually- Kiss at Gunpoint, For Today Only, On the Side, Current band now- Jack the Cat, and I recently filled in for Celebrate Nebraska for a while.

Michelle: What are some of your influences?

Sean: Incubus, Megadeath, Protest the Hero, RX Bandits, At the Drive-in, and Billy Talent.  That’s pretty much my current influences, Megadeath was more an influence in the beginning.

Michelle: I’d say you have definitely developed your own style and it rocks!

Sean: Haha, thank you.

Michelle: What inspired you to create music?

Sean: Playing music.

Michelle: How did you learn how the play your fancy fiddle? Do you take any lessons?

Sean: I took Classic Guitar in high school…I failed.  I learned a lot better just by playing and figuring out my style on my own.- A lot of practicing.

Michelle: Do you have any other hobbies other than music?

Sean: Snowboarding- when I can afford it, painting- when I can afford it, skateboarding- when I have time, and cooking.

Michelle: It seems like you really love animals too. I heard that you live on a small farm.

Sean: Haha, I guess I do. We have a hand full of animals.

Michelle: What is your favorite thing about being in the band Jack the Cat?

Sean: That’s a good question, probably the shows,  just simply the shows.  That is what I crave the most.

Michelle: Do you play a lot of shows?

Sean: Yeah, I would say so, for an underground band.

Michelle: What are your favorite venues?

Sean: Stray Cat, Cosmic Soup (they have great sound), other than that, I just like when a lot of people show up and have fun.

Michelle: What was your favorite show?

Sean: There were two that really stood out: Zombie Ball and a show we did at the Dunes several years ago.  A ton of people showed up to that one cause everyone was camping there and there were bonfires all over.  It was a cool party and show.

Michelle: What do you usually wear when you’re sleeping?

Sean: *Laughs* Batman PJ’s

Michelle: Do you have a ritual before performing at shows?

Sean: *Silently Smiles*

Michelle:  Is it something I don’t want to put on this blog?

Sean: Probably.

Michelle: What do you hope to do with music in the future?

Sean: I hope to do something with music in the future, anything. If it could pay the bills- it’d be nice.
